Hugh Scott Douglas

Hugh Scott Douglas

British artist Hugh Scott-Douglas is renowned for his cyanotype prints on textiles. In the early stages of his career, he began by designing patterned motifs using computer-generated algorithms, then printed onto film and exposed to sunlight on fabrics like canvas.

HUGH SCOTT-DOUGLAS

HUGH SCOTT-DOUGLAS

In recent years, Hugh Scott Douglas has been testing the limits of Photoshop and the OCÉ printer. His practice brims with motifs that reflect upon socio-economic structures and the dismantling of established paradigms and icons of consumerism.

THIAGO ROCHA PITTA

THIAGO ROCHA PITTA

Brazilian artist Thiago Rocha Pitta is best known for his fascination with nature, focusing on the subtle changes of the world around him. This watercolor glorifies the cellular processes that underpin all life by tracing the relationship between microorganisms and the processes of transformation they undergo, such as cyanobacteria and photosynthesis. Here Pitta creates a rich visual narrative that prompts us to reflect on minutiae of our natural world.

Here Interior designer Monica Cardanini’s talent in sourcing well-crafted and distinctive furnishings, along with fine antiques, and unique accessories, create a warm and inviting environment that complement our client’s artistic tastes. The watercolor by Brazilian artist Thiago Rocha Pitta brings an abstracted organic subject matter to the space and blends harmoniously with Cardanini’s design.

LIAM EVERETT

LIAM EVERETT

Liam Everett’s artistic style is characterized as theatrical and performative, he incorporates studio objects, referred to as “obstacles” and “props,” onto the canvas prior to creating his artwork. These objects serve as physical barriers, compelling Everett to navigate around and through them, influencing his gestures and marks. Drawing inspiration from dance, theater, and philosophy, his works on panels and fabric exhibit expressive gestures, smudges, lines, and creases, each bearing the unique imprint of human touch.

RICHARD MISRACH

RICHARD MISRACH

Richard Misrach is considered one of the most influential photographers of his generation, instrumental in pioneering the use of color photography and large-scale format in the 1970s. For over 50 years, Misrach has photographed the dynamic landscape of the American West through an environmentally aware and politically astute lens. Here Misrach’s photograph seamlessly blends with the dining room design, infusing the client’s interior with a dreamlike seascape.

Richard Misrach’s large-scale color vistas powerfully document the devastating ecological effects of human intervention on the natural world. This work offers an aerial perspective of human interaction and isolation. Taken from his hotel balcony in Honolulu, it depicts the delicate balance between human gestures and the vastness of the sea, shedding light on our complex relationship with nature.

RICHARD SERRA

RICHARD SERRA

Richard Serra is known for his use of industrial materials to create large-scale sculptures that make abstract properties such as weight, balance, and gravity visible and experiential. Here Serra has revitalized traditional etching techniques, demonstrating his skill in conveying the monumental and weighty qualities of his sculpture to the medium of paper.

DIANA AL-HADID

DIANA AL-HADID

Syrian artist Diana Al-Hadid is known for her “sculptural paintings,  blurring the boundary between sculpture and painting, figuration and abstraction. She uses materials such as polymer gypsum, fiberglass, and plaster, and applies them to a wall-like support. She then pries the image off the backing, resulting in a stiff, lace-like scrim.

HAYAL POZANTI

HAYAL POZANTI

Hayal Pozanti explores “cyborg anthropology” in her vibrant and expressive ‘visual poetry’ artworks, using painting as a tool for self-reflection and emotional processing. She describes it as “a framework for understanding the effects of technology on human beings and culture”. Moving away from numerical representations, Pozanti meditates on words and abstract language through intuitive shapes derived from her unique alphabet.

TSUYOSHI MAEKAWA

TSUYOSHI MAEKAWA

In 1962, Tsuyoshi Maekawa joined the Gutai group, a prominent avant-garde collective in Japan associated with movements like Abstract Expressionism and Art Informel. After the passing of Jiro Yoshihara(Gutai’s co-founder) in 1972, Maekawa’s artistic focus shifted towards the three-dimensionality of painting.
